lyrics
The voices, I can feel them in my bones
Of all the stories that’ve ever been known
The voices, So far yet so near
The pain and the suffering of thousands of years
The voices in in languages no longer heard
The voices of people from all over the world
The voices of those whose way of life was destroyed
From who everything was taken that brought them joy
The voices that are missing from the history books
The voices of those who were overlooked
We need to listen with an open heart
To the voices of the world of which we’re all a part
We need to listen and make some room
Try to understand, and learn to tune into the voices
We need to listen with an open heart
To the voices of the world of which we’re all a part
We need to listen and make some room
Try to understand, and learn to tune into the voices
Of the people as they cry
The voices of the people with their fists held high
The voices so bold
The voices of the rebels both young and old
The voices
We need to listen with an open heart
To the voices of the world of which we’re all a part
We need to listen and make some room
Try to understand, and learn to tune into the voices
Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman
A delightful and well crafted album, and one of my top favorites. "When You're Gone I Say Your Name" is so beautiful, it just makes me pick up my concertina. Definitely music goals. :) MC
🍻 I'm speechless. I can't even pronounce the guy's name (I'm working on that 🤣🤣), let alone comment on how brilliant his playing is. Not only that, but the physical album is the most substantial CD case and booklet I've ever held, outside of an OH MY GIRL album. Yes, I'm proud of myself for referencing k-pop while commenting on an Irish trad record. Anyone searching for tenor banjo on BC could stop here and be entirely fulfilled, although I encourage you to search for others as well. ⚡🔥🪕🔥⚡ acmochi
